A Love Poem: The World of Love

Other than the story of this love
What have I said, what have I heard?

It was all my feelings and pains
If I was telling a story

What words remain untold on my lips?
What songs remain unsung in my voice?

I have you in my heart if I travel from place to place
I will not exchange this world of love for the entire universe

Don’t go drinking
You are the wine itself

What should I pour you?
You, yourself are the pure wine

They say being in love is being drunk
My heart is blessed for it is drunk of this love
For the only pain it has is your love

It would be nice for you to know
That if you are kind
You will remain in my heart

So remain in my heart
So I can remain in your love
It is the world in your eyes, for me it's your looks

It's like the drunk days of Khayyám in his poems
Like the rain on the sea
Like the moon in the desert

So remain in my heart
So I can remain in your love
You alone, you alone are for me in this world

You're dear like Layla to Majnun
Like Juliet to Romeo
Like the sun for tomorrow
